Calirican.com is a website devoted to those obscure California Latinos we lovingly refer to as Boricua!

Unlike New York City, where Puerto Ricans can be found in abundance and just about everywhere you look, the Boricua population here in California is rather scarce. They exist, but in tiny droves. Where on earth are they...? Well, that's the problem; there's a little bit of Salsa here and a little bit of Salsa there but nothing in large concentrations. And if you add to that little dilemma, no Bodegas, few Puerto Rican Restaurants and no idea where my fellow Ricans hang out, well you get the picture. What's a Rican to do?

I grew up in New York City and as a full blooded Nuyorican, there were many culturally related things that I took for granted. Now that I'm a part time Calirican, I'm amazed at just how much I miss that wonderful culture and of course mi gente.

In comes calirican.com. My hope is to provide California Ricans with a valuable resource for all that is Boricua in California. A virtual Boricua City if you will.
